EPiC lab welcomes new PhD student Hongrui Lin

Lin is our first official PhD student. He was a medical student back in China. During his internship at a local hospital, he saw people suffer from mental health issues but they were left untreated. He wanted to help and hence decided to pursue a path in psychology. He did a conversion course at the University of Glasgow. While eating deep-fried Mars bars and drinking Irn-Bru, he studied the effects of emojis on comprehension of written messages (as in You like Irn-Bru? ;P ). He got a first on his dissertation (I think the whisky helped a lot). He is now one of us (sorry, Glaaazgough!) and will be working on emotional consequences of inner voice processing in silent reading.
